Images That Really Turn Heads!

Lighting cameraman Rohan Dadswell heads up Rotating Head Productions, an Australian video production company. He has worked in the industry for over 20 years - giving him a solid technical background as well as creative insight - and is experienced in all aspects of television & drama production. Rohan is an award winning cinematographer and a member of the Australian Cinematographers Society.

Rotating Head Productions can provide experienced broadcast television and production crews for all styles of program making; from documentaries, commercials, lifestyle/reality programs through to music videos, independent features/shorts and live multi-camera events.

Whether you need to capture real life or revolutionary views, Rohan and his team are professionals – determined to obtain the best results for clients.

In our never-ending quest to provide clients with the best possible images, we have recently invested in the Silicon Imaging SI-2K Digital Cinema Camera (the Slumdog camera)* and a set of prime lenses - giving better resolution and looks to our footage than what the normal high definition (or standard def) video cameras can achieve.

For those jobs where 2K might seem like overkill, we have two of Sony’s latest CineAlta HD cameras - the PMW-350. These cameras record to solid state flash cards using the XDCam EX format. We also have a Nano Flash recorder if less compression is needed. All of this footage can be quickly backed up and transfered in the field using our Nexto DI video storage unit.

Rotating Head Productions is an Australian based company, centrally located in Canberra, the Nation’s Capital.

*Winner of 8 Academy Awards, Slumdog Millionaire used Silicon Imaging SI-2K cameras to shoot over 70% of this multi award winning film. As well as Oscars for Best Film and best Cinematography, Slumdog Millionaire also received Best Cinematography awards from the Australian Cinematographers Society (ACS), American Society of Cinematography (ASC), British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) and Camerimage (The International Film Festival of the Art of Cinematography) – the first mostly digitally acquired film to do so.
